The Masters Mile was the first of three qualifiers for the Masters Miles at Maryland Elite Grand Prix Invitational, to be held Saturday, January 27, 2001, at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.

The other two qualifiers are

Saturday, December 30, 1:00 pm, at Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown MD
Sunday, January 14, 9:00 am, at Thomas Jefferson Community Center in Arlington VA

Qualifying rules:

The top 12 male masters (40+) across the series of three meets qualify for the men's masters mile on January 27
The top four masters women and the top eight among men 50+ and remaining masters women qualify for the men's veterans/women's master mile (the Age vs. Beauty mile) on January 27.
