Saugerties Fall Classic Half Marathon
Saugerties, NY, October 8, 2000

The annual Saugerties Fall Classic Half Marathon was held on Sunday,October 8th. John Miller, a former Saugerties resident now living in Boulder, CO placed first in 1:22:44. Anne Gullickson of High Falls was the first woman,
finishing eighth overall in 1:32:07 - a pace averaging just over 7 minutes per mile.
The race was marred by an unfortunate hit and run auto accident on Lauren Tice Road.
One of the runners, Chris Myers of Saugerties, was severely injured by a reckless
driver who then left the scene of the accident. Mr. Myers was treated at the scene
and transported to Kingston Hospital by Diaz Ambulance. The Saugerties Fall Classic
and the Boys and Girls Club wish Chris all the best for a speedy recovery.
The event is held as a fund raiser for the Saugerties Boys and Girls Club. There
were 84 finishers.
