The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 5K Race Through the Gap (run/walk) took place on Sunday, October 1, 2000. We had a very good turn out of 76 participants, and raised $1,100 for research, patient services, and education. The race was sponsored by Pocono Record, American Ribbon & Trophy, Delaware Water Gap Chamber of Commerce, Dellaria & Associates, Keegan Tees, Kelly Lewis, Rhino Linings of the Poconos, Water Gap Country Club, Water Gap Diner, and Pack Shack Adventures. The Delaware Water Gap Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff¹s Office assisted with traffic control. The Portland Ambulance Corp was on hand in case of emergency. We hope to make this an annual event.
