21st Kaynor's Sap Run 6M

The spring blizzard of 2000 was the toughest competitor at this year's Sap Run. 16 runners managed to keep their cars on the unplowed roads to get to the race, and ran 6.0 miles through heavy snow and winds. 10" of heavy, wet snow was everywhere. Luckily the sugarhouse was large enough to fit all the volunteers and racers for the refreshments after the race. The bonus was that everyone went home with a well deserved survival prize! Chapin Kaynor, the race director since the inception of the race, said he has never seen worse weather, but took it as a personal challenge to put on a "quality" race. Let's hope for sunshine and 50 degrees for next year!
