RUN to READ 5k race, 2 mile run/walk, 1/2 mile kids run put on by the San Angelo Adult Literacy Council of Tom Green County in San Angelo, Texas on March 15, 1997 Out and back course on the O. T. Fisher Dam. The conditions were cold, windy, overcast, temp in the low-mid 30s. This was the 3rd year for the race to be held. After drawing about 100 participants the first two years, the size of the field doubled to about 200 participants this year.
