Peter Coleman and Dina Newhouse led a field of about 100 runners along the frightful 5K course during Halloween weekend. Frightful because it led directly to the Pickens County Courthouse and its Face in the Window made famous as one of Alabama's 13 ghosts. The race is the fourth in the University Orthopedic Clinic's Grand Prix of West Alabama. The race benefits the Pickens County Courthouse Preservation Committee which works to maintain the courthouse which has fallen into disrepair.
