Rick Davis missed a turn near the finish and cut off a portion of the course as a result. Doug Bell, second overall, and Tim Jones, third, agreed that it did not change the outcome of the race as Davis had taken control with only a short distance left in the race. Therefore, Davis was declared the winner, but no time was recorded for his run.
