It was a beautiful cool low humidity day in North Central Louisiana. There were 124 registered with 118 finishers. The Big Dog was named after five dogs
who train with their owners in the Lincoln Parish Park. There are five trails, and each trail was marked by a dog. The first trail was Kona's
a German Shepherd, the second trail was Maggie's an adorable mixed
breed, the third trail was Garnet's an Irish Setter, the fourth was
Maggie's a yellow lab, and last but not least was Duncan's trail, and
Duncan is a Gordon Setter. The top rated mountain bike trail featured a
lot of single track with sharp inclines. The tenth mile was the hardest
with a long uphill climb followed by a steep downhill. Participants
were treated with massages and great post race food. The race started
to the sounds of Sammy Hagar singing "Red Voodoo" that has a cajun
Louisiana sound. The race was attended by no less than 6 states
including Louisiana.
